Hommage à l'ancienne proprio
This project for me is a dream come true and I only hope for you to come and enjoy it as much as I do.
I have myself been In The Wind since I was 17 years old. It all started with a trip to Alberta/BC and it never ended. The year after, I was taking a road trip across Canada. Two years later, I was leaving for the Dominican Republic in search of a job. Having discovered a passion for travelling, I went back to school to study tourism. Once my styudies completed, I was being hired by a travel agency and have spent 4 years working for them in Cuba, Mexico and Dominican Republic. During that time I also had the chance to go to Greece and Thailand with my backpack...because yes I am a backpacker and I will always be. After 4 years of working for this travel agency I realized that I wanted more. The all-inclusive world was not my world and I couldn't understand how people travel to stay in a resort where they don't get to experience the country, the culture, the people, the food...etc. When I travel I want to learn, discover, meet and try. I want to be surprised, I want to be amazed, I want to be challenged. So I left the job and went back to school to do a Bachelor's degree in International Studies and a Master's degree in International Development Management. During my studies I went to the University of Mexico for a semester and I did my intership in San José, Costa Rica in 2012. This is when the magic happened. I went to a place called Castle Tam where I lived for 7 months and where I met incredible people. It was truly one of the best times of my life. I fell in love with Costa Rica, with San Jose and with this guesthouse and its people. It is with a broken heart that I left to go back home.
Ever since I left Costa Rica and finishing my schooling, I've been obsessed with the idea of having my own project, my own business. I've been obsessed with wanting to do what I really want in life, to find a purpose to my life. For two years I have read a ton of books on the subject. I had different ideas about what I wanted to do. but I realized that there are just so many things that I want to do! But then the opportunity to buy this guesthouse arose and I decided that it was it, it was my chance to have my own business and to live off my passion.
So here I am, presenting you the In The Wind Hostel & Guesthouse and inviting you to come share the dream with me! I truly hope to have the chance to meet you and I truly hope that you will love San José and Costa Rica the way I do!
